PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

 

Town of Swanton

 

The Town of Swanton is considering making application to the State of Vermont for an Implementation Grant in the amount of Seven Hundred Thousand Dollars ($700,000.00) under the Vermont Community Development Program.  A public hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the Swanton Town Office,1 Academy Street in Swanton, Vermont, to obtain the views of citizens on community development activities that may be undertaken under this chapter, to furnish information concerning the amount of funds available and the range of community development activities that may be undertaken under this program, and to give affected citizens the opportunity to examine the proposed statement of projected use of such funds under 10 V.S.A. Ch. 29, Sect. 684(b)(2).  The proposed activities for this application are to take place at VIA Cheese, 11 Jonergin Drive in Swanton, Vermont as follows:  (1) to upgrade cheese manufacturing equipment to reclaim whey by-products that are not currently being reclaimed to be used in the next cheese batch processing. 

 

Documentation relative to the proposed project and grant application is available at the Swanton Town Administrator’s Office, 1 Academy Street, Swanton, Vermont and may be viewed during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
